The story of Diptyque begins in the early sixties when Bernard Maître, a young cabinet-maker from Grasse, was inspired by his friend André Girard’s desire to create a new perfume for Thérèse. The legendary scent called Baiser du Dragon was born, and an innovative brand that offered its customers unique olfactory works of art was established. This first fragrance provided a new approach to perfumery, an evocation of the pleasures of the senses and feelings through the power of scent. The collection has since grown to comprise over 50 fragrances which are an ode to our five senses.
